All students at SRHS will be creating an ePortfolio by the end of the semester. By the end of the school year, this will be a portfolio that has evidence of your work in it which you can share with others or save for yourself.
You create an ePortfolio in Canvas under your account, not through a class. Therefore, the ePortfolio will move with you during your time at SRHS, it won't be attached to a school year or a course you are in.
To create an ePortfolio, you go to your Account settings. On the left of the screen, at the top you will see a menu link that says Account. Under this, you will find an ePortfolio link.
I've attached a link to an ePortfolio that I made for myself here. This will give you a sense of the way ePortfolios look. There are very specific explanations for problem-solving under the "help" link. If you need more help, or help when you're out of class, you can go to "help" the go to the "Student Guide" go to "ePortfolios". This will walk you through tasks as well. The best, most efficient way, to create an ePortfolio, is to start creating one, and use the Wizard tool--it will walk you through tasks pretty directly.
We will work through creating your ePortfolio together. Your portfolio will count as part of your Final for this course.
For this course your ePortfolio MUST include:
Welcome Page: This page is the page that the portfolio opens to. It must have a short piece of writing where you introduce yourself, and a picture that you think is representative of you. You must also explain why you chose the image.
Reading: This is a section. In this section must have at least ONE page titled "Annotating Text" in which you show (a picture) as evidence of an annotation, and explain why you chose this evidence.
Writing: This is a section. In this section you must have at least TWO pages. One must be titled "Reading Log" and the other "Essay". On the Reading Log page, you must include a picture of one of your reading logs, and an explanation of what it is. On the "Essay" page, you will upload the essay you wrote this year that you are most proud of. You may choose any essay.
My Choice: You may title this section whatever you like. This section must have at least one page that features any kind of media of something you feel proud of that you did this school year. It may be from any class, any extra curricular activity, or any appropriate activity that has importance to the way you see yourself. It can be an image of some artwork, video of you doing a sport or activity, an audio file of a performance, a picture of a hobby or craft....any way you identify yourself. In addition to the media, you must write a brief paragraph that explains what you have chosen, and why it is important.
